Route: Westlake to Las Virgenes, stopping at San Juan Bautista De Anza Park for R/R and Water, Right on Mulholland up Rock Store with four return options see below:
Hi Everyone, On Saturday June 2nd. starting at 8:30 AM we are riding from the start location to San Juan Bautista De Anza Park for water and R/R then proceeding to make a Right on Mulholland, up Rock Store. I will be descending Lower Encinal to the Coast and returning on Mulholland. However here are alternates: Alternate routes: Ø Continue on Mulholland to Westlake. Ø Upper Encinal to Lechusa and back on Decker/Westlake Ø Add little sycamore for additional climbing. Ø To the coast and back up Mulholland. Please use the restroom before departing. For a detailed map and route slip, go to: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/1256131 Option including little sycamore: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/969382 Regroups: ü De Anza Park R/R and Water ü Top of Rock Store. ü Upper Encinal at Lechusa those returning on Decker will make a right at this intersection. ü Leo Carrillo Sate Park: entrance on the right before PCH and Mulholland: Water and R/R. Next water stop on Decker after the first stinger. As usual, we will meet at the Citibank parking lot and have our pre-ride announcements promptly at 8:30AM then splitting into our groups and departing.
The Orange Ride is an Intermediate/advanced recreational ride, 40-60 miles in length.It is mandatory to have and ware a helmet and it is the rider's responsibility to ensure that the helmet is valid (check expiration on helmet inner tag, usually good for five years) and in good working condition. It is not a "no drop ride" but as always let's try to stick together and have a fun, safe ride. Things to have: Water to complete the ride or at least to reach the next water stop. Tools to perform minor repairs. Chain repair linkage. Inner-tube and inflated device. Cellular phone. Food to replenish energy.
Inclement weather policy: In the interest of safety, whenever it is either actively raining or the rideroute has wet roads, it is our club policy to cancel a club ride. Club members may still choose to meet and ride in these conditions; however, the ride will not be considered an official club ride.
After the ride, please join us at one of the many refueling options available at the finish such as Natural Cafe, Sea Casa, East Coast Bagel, Sprouts Market, etc..
Please remember to park in the area along Westlake Bl.(between the street and the first driveway aisle) and not in the area in front of the Shops/Market. If we don't respect the requests of the lease tenants, we could be asked to park elsewhere. Regards Norm Weir (818) 282-2421
