Hi All: The CVC December Away Ride is next Sat. the 14th Santa Barbara - Tucker's Grove Park ( start & finish ) - Foothilll Rd.- Gibralter Rd.- E. Camino Cielo - Painted Cave -San Marcos-Foothill Rd.
9:00am Tucker's Grove Park, Santa Barbara, CA ( parking, water & bathrooms) - Turnpike Rd. & Cathedral Oaks Rd. (Turnpike exit off #101 drive N to Cathedral Oaks) Foothill Rd.-Gibralter Rd.-E. I realize that this is an advanced Away Ride but this has been on our list since I announced all the Away Rides at the beginning of 2013 and the long range weather forecast looks good for next Sat. The views along the top of Gibralter & Camino Cielo ( out and back) are spectacular on a clear day. Lack of available water stops is an issue but can be remedied by bringing extra water bottles/camelback
For an alternative Away Ride: If there is interest & a club leader volunteer for the "standard" Santa Barbara Away Ride that ride can be scheduled and announced for next Saturday too. This ride is 48 miles and approx. 3,000 ' climbing This route is on our club's Ride with GPS - I can send out particulars if there is enough member interest.
