U-TURN SPECIAL RIDE

Away from Citi Bank and out the backdoor of the parking lot as usual. Right on Townsgate to a right onto Lakeview then left on Agoura Rd and down to a right onto Lindero and around the lake. Left on Westlake Blvd and up Decker to a right on Carlisle Rd. SINGLE FILE ON WESTLAKE BLVD PAST POTRERO. To the end of Carlisle and REGROUP then u-turn and back to a left on Decker and a left on Potrero. Left on Lake Sherwood Dr and 'round to Potrero and REGROUP. Left on Potrero and through Hidden Valley to a left on Hidden Valley Rd (extra points if you go up to the top of the hill at the west end of the valley and back down to a right on Hidden Valley Rd). REGROUP at the end of Hidden Valley Rd and no pee stop here, too many cameras on all those beautiful gates facilities are available at the fire station. U-turn and down and back to a right onto Potrero. Back through Hidden Valley only this time do not take Lake Sherwood Dr, go straight on Potrero over the little speed bump and REGROUP at Westlake Blvd and Potrero after getting through the intersection. Now brag about how the last hill was a piece of cake (cyclists like carbs, especially in cake form). Straight on Westlake Blvd back to Citi bank.

Purple Ride Info: This is the easiest of the CVC group rides based on lower mileage, a slower average pace and less hill climbing, unless of course the read leader is in a bad mood and wants to torture all the beginners, ok just kidding. Although it is called a beginner recreation ride, there is a minimal amount of fitness required to maintain the 12-13 mph average pace. If you can average 15mph for two laps 'round The Lake (Westlake) you are there. Routes vary in length from 12 to 25 miles with a maximum of 1500 feet of climbing. We do our best to ensure no one gets dropped on this ride by having frequent regroups. Ride leaders can almost always use an extra volunteer to help the ride leader. If you are a fit rider using the Purple ride as an active rest ride be aware this will be active rest with the emphasis on s-l-o-w, be patient and keep the pace down, try something completely different and stay with the group.

Inclement weather policy: In the interest of safety, whenever it is either actively raining or the ride route has wet roads, it is our club policy to cancel a club ride. Club members may still choose to meet and ride in these conditions; however, the ride will not be considered an official club ride. See all the British memebers will still be there astonished that nobody else is riding what with the weather being so jolly.

After the ride, please join us at one of the many refueling options available at the finish such as Natural Cafe, Sea Casa, East Coast Bagel, Sprouts Market, etc.. This is the time to brag and tell lies about what you did on the ride, a time honored tradition.

Please remember to park in the area along Westlake Bl.(between the street and the first driveway aisle) and not in the area in front of the Shops/Market. If we don't respect the requests of the lease tenants, we could be asked to park elsewhere.
