CVC Gold/Purple Level Away Ride -- Saturday, April 13th, 8:30 AM 


In conjunction with our Channel Island Bicycle Club (CIBC) friends the route starts in Camarillo at freedom park near the Camarillo Airport, to Trancas and Back. 

Purple riders this a very flat route and the chance to ride PCH and enjoy the views.
 
8:30 AM Camarillo Airport, Freedom Park, Parking Lot 
Exit Freeway 101 at South Las Posas Road and turn South toward the ocean, then turn right (West) on Pleasant Valley.  Freedom Park is on the right.  Please arrive by 8:15 AM for a 8:30 AM departure?
 
Gold/Purple Ride route:
47 total miles for the complete ride to Trancas and back 
850 total feet of climbing
Avg. grade = 1.1% 
MAX grade = 8.8% One only at Le Carrillo. 
Ascent = 5% of ride ( mostly up and back down)
Flat = 95%  
 
Ride description: basically down (South) on PCH and back. 


The nice part of this ride is that you can make it as long or as short as you prefer.  We are starting with the CIBC and riding south towards Trancas and back.

The Gold/Purple is a beginner to Intermediate ride, 20+ miles in length. It is mandatory to have & wear a helmet. It is the rider's responsibility to ensure that the helmet is in good condition. This is a no drop and a very easy route with the intent of maintaining the group & have a fun safe ride. We will regroup regularly to allow everyone a chance to ride together.

 

Things to have:

Helmet !!! - Water to complete the ride - Tools to perform minor repairs -Chain repair linkage - Inner-tube and pump (or the like) - Cellular phone - Food to replenish energy.


Inclement weather policy: In the interest of safety, whenever it is either actively raining or the ride route has wet roads, it is our club policy to cancel a club ride. Club members may still choose to meet and ride in these conditions; however, the ride will not be considered an official club ride.
