CVC Saturday Purple Ride 8:30 DeAnza Park
Meeting at Citibank Parking Lot - Westlake Village. Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road (North East Corner)

Howdy-ho, CVC Purple Riders!

Beth will be unavailable to ride until May 12th - so folks - ride nicely together!  Look out for new riders and make sure everyone KNOWS the route and the REGROUP spots.

If possible, be sure that everyone has a partner that matches their riding capability
PS - Feel free to drop me an email after your ride to let me know how it went!

This Saturday, the Purple ride will be going to DeAnza Park and back.  If you would like to add on some climbing and a few extra miles, you can take it down Las Virgenes, up Mulholland and back on Cornell.  For a detailed map, click on the link below.  Please make sure and read our inclement weather policy in case there is a chance of rain this Saturday.

The
Purple ride is a beginner club ride with a 12-13 mph average pace but is open to all levels. No one gets dropped and no one is left behind. Please make sure to wear the appropriate riding attire. Please check your bike prior to Saturday and make any necessary repairs.

Although the Purple ride is a "no drop" ride, for the enjoyment and safety of the participants, we will keep a 12-14 MPH average.

If you feel you are not Purple ready, but want to work up to the Purple level, please contact the Ride Captain who will gladly give you some pointers and advise. We strongly recommend that you come out and meet the riders!  The best stepping stone to grow into a Purple rider is to ride around Westlake!  When you can sweep those 5 flat miles at a steady 12 to 14 mph pace, and still feel ready for more, then you will be able to handle many of the standard Purple routes.

Things you need for every ride:
  • Helmet-Mandatory
  • Water or Sports Drink
  • I.D.
  • Cell phone
  • Spare tube
  • CO2 cartridge or hand pump
  • Patch kit
  • Route slip

Inclement weather policy: In the interest of safety, whenever it is either actively raining or the ride route has wet roads, it is our club policy to cancel a club ride. Club members may still choose to meet and ride in these conditions; however, the ride will not be considered an official club ride.

Roll safely, CVC
Purple Team!  :-)
