Black Ride: Black ride is something new to try for every 2nd Sunday of the month. It’s meant to be an “everyone gets dropped” ride. It is designed for faster/stronger riders, but truthfully anyone can participate at their own 100%. Slow roll to start of first segment, then go your 100% to the end of the segment. Slow roll to the next, 100% as long as you can. You can also call this is HIT (high intensity training). When going at your 100% be extremely cautious of yourself and proximity to other riders. Full effort segments are not downhill, or crossing intersections. You should be dead tired at the end of this ride, but over time this route will make you stronger. Shut up legs-Jens Question of the week: What kind of rider do you want to be? Since you have thought about what kind of rider you are, now think about what kind of rider you want to be. What goals do you have left to fulfill for the year? What long term goals have you set for yourself? One of the great things about riding with a club is the vast experience and experiences our riders have. If you want to be faster or stronger, ask someone stronger than you what they did to get to their level. If your goal is to complete the Mulholland Challenge or even MC Double, ask someone what is was like. How did they train for the event? What mistakes did they make, and what did they learn?
