Re-post to announce from JC's earlier email with some editorializing on my part....
Our 6th annual "Ride of Silence" is in one week, next Wed the 15th, at The Lakes.
The Ride of Silence is an international event that helps to bring attention to those who have lost there lives, or have been injured in a bicycle accident. You can find more information on the website at http://www.rideofsilence.org/ . Keep in mind that the ROS website posts the international start at 7pm but we start our ride at 6:30PM for safety reasons.
We gather at 5:30 in the parking lot, have a short program in front of the Lakes at 6:00pm and we ride at 6:30. Come out and help us make this year's ride ROAR in Silence. This route is 10 miles of flat, with the steepest grade crossing the freeway, so bring the other half and older kids. You can also drop them off at the half way mark as we cross back in front of City Hall.
We need a few volunteers for set up and support. If you can help, contact JC Simmons at jc.simmons@verizon.net
