Hey CVC,
The temperature is forecast to be perfect again this weekend, with Saturday and Sunday in the high 70s. It will be overcast and really humid and windy, so dehydration is a Big Danger! Drink, drink, drink!
On Saturday, we have four rides going out. The Red Ride will be doing Rockstore, Down Latigo and back up Decker with a lil Sycamore. The Orange ride is heading straight up Westlake and down Encinal to the coast and returning up Latigo. The Orange Ride is going through Thousand Oaks down Norweigen Grade and looping through the West end of Simi and back over Olson. The purple ride is going over Foothill, looping through TO up Lynn, back over Pederson and over La Granada.
On Sunday, we've got three rides going out. The Red Group will be "recovering" up Stunt and down Piuma. The G.O. Ride will do a loop around Agoura through Chesboro and Kanan, then over Westlake and out to Wildwood. The Social ride is heading up Westlake then a loop back over Kanan to the Medea Bike Trail with a Chesboro return.
We've also got midweek rides Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, including the Rock Store race ride Tuesday night, cruise rides Tuesday and Thursday mornings, and a Wednesday afternoon ride with Sherie.
Our Purple and Newcomer courses are getting a fantastic response. Please help spread the word and bring friends! We will continue to have them this month and another Newcomer's class and ride on the first weekend next month. Come join us for the Monthly Newcomers Class, with lots of great info from bike checks, to riding strategies, to group dynamics.

9:00am at The Landing parking lot. Oak Park route.
There are very few cars out at this time.
Come and join us. No rider gets left behind.
Evening Ride - Leader Jonathan Woodbury
The fast paced Rock Store ride continues on Tuesday at 5:00 pm PDT sharp.
Two groups roll out at different paces, and will both start at 5pm because of the earlier sunset.
Both rides leave from the Landing's parking lot.
RWGPS route with Mulholland return (without Upper E) 26 + miles with 1,900' of climbing.
RWGPS route for the entire route including Upper Encinal: 29 miles 2,400' of climbing
Sunset is 6:25 pm. We have about 20 to 25 minutes from leaving the Encinal
Y to sunset. About the time we leave the Encinal Y. Bring your lights!
Afternoon Ride - Leader Sheri Leiken
Come join us for the Wednesday Afternoon ride leaving the landing at 3:45.
Pace is a gold/orange but about 19 miles. We will do a Hidden Valley Route this week.
It's a great route to come try since it is an out and back in the same direction.

Come and join us. No rider gets left behind. If there is a marked bike lane, cyclists may ride shoulder to shoulder. Single file otherwise. There is no three or four abreast at any time while moving.If you are wearing a CVC kit, you represent the club, so please be sure to follow the rules of the road. When riding with CVC, you agree to: * Wear a helmet and ensure my bike is in good working order. * Ride to the right, pass on the left. * Ride in the bike lane (where available) and signal when moving into another lane. * Ride no more than two abreast in the bike lane, single file on narrow roads, and avoid "Swarming" (bunching up and multiplying the chance of accidents) * Call out and point if I see a traffic hazard * Respect ALL traffic laws and the rights of all autos, bicycles, and pedestrians* Ride predictably and remind other to be safe * Be a bicycling ambassador
PARKING
Please remember when parking at The Landing for any weekend morning rides to park and congregate towards the far end of the lot away from the street and use the middle row. Do not park next to the homes.
ADDITIONAL NOTES
The Purple ride is considered a no drop. Having said that, please note that if you are falling behind or slower than the average pace, you may be dropped. All rides not asterisked are considered a "drop ride" so please understand the route before you start (and how to get back). If you get to a regrouping spot and no one is there, consider yourself dropped. As always, we will try to stick together and have a fun, safe ride. We will regroup regularly to allow everyone a chance to ride together.
If for any reason you leave a group ride, please pass along the information to the ride leader.
Inclement weather policy: In the interest of safety, whenever it is either actively raining or the ride route has wet roads, it is our club policy to cancel a club ride. Club members may still choose to meet and ride in these conditions; however, the ride will not be considered an official club ride.
