Hi Purple Riders,

This Saturday the Purples will be led by Mike Levy...and he is working on a route for you!  I believe this map will suffice:  http://ridewithgps.com/routes/702127

PLEASE NOTE that this Saturday is the Road2Recovery Honor Ride that starts at the Sheriff's Station in Calabasas, on Agoura Road (between Liberty Canyon and Lost Hills).  The will be rolling out west-bound up Agoura Road, then into Hidden Valley, and so on.  You'll be rolling in the OPPOSITE DIRECTION - so be sure to WAVE at those of us you see!

We will meet at Citibank (corner of Agoura Hills and Westlake), rolling out at 8:30 AM.  Please come EARLY for parking!

The
Purple ride is a beginner club ride with a 12-13 mph average pace but is open to all levels. No one gets dropped and no one is left behind. Please make sure to wear the appropriate riding attire. Please check your bike prior to Saturday and make any necessary repairs.

Although the Purple ride is a "no drop" ride, for the enjoyment and safety of the participants, we will keep a 12-14 MPH average.

If you feel you are not Purple ready, but want to work up to the Purple level, please contact the Ride Captain who will gladly give you some pointers and advise. We strongly recommend that you come out and meet the riders!  The best stepping stone to grow into a Purple rider is to ride around Westlake!  When you can sweep those 5 flat miles at a steady 12 to 14 mph pace, and still feel ready for more, then you will be able to handle many of the standard Purple routes.

Things you need for every ride:
  • Helmet-Mandatory
  • Water or Sports Drink
  • I.D.
  • Cell phone
  • Spare tube
  • CO2 cartridge or hand pump
  • Patch kit
  • Route slip
