CVC Saturday Purple Mar 17th 8:30 am Old Agoura CCW & PLUS & LOOPS
Meeting at Citibank Parking Lot - Westlake Village  --  Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road (North East Corner)
Route:  Old Agoura Loop - Counter-clockwise

Hi Purple Riders,

TWO Special Notes!  It is highly likely it will RAIN this Saturday!  If so the rides will be canceled!  :-(  If it doesn't rain...proceed as planned...

AND AND AND our Purple jersey girl, April, will lead Purple Loops around Westlake!!!  Purple Loops is for folks who don't feel they are up for a regular Purple ride.

Get ready for this Saturday....!  I will be sweeping the GOLD ride.  We need someone to LEAD the Purple route, which will follow most of the Gold route, so....if you're fast enough, you'll be sweeping the Golds with ME!  :-D

Since most of you have ridden this route with me in the past, you can choose to go our regular ride up over Kanan to fly down Westlake Blvd at the end.  PAIR UP like we've done the past two weeks - I think this is working out very well to meet individual needs for speed!

Below are the links to the Ride With GPS website that will show you both routes. Be sure to print out a route slip if you are unfamiliar with the area. The PURPLE ride is 15.9 miles with only 957 ft. of climbing.

Please look at the GOLD Map, too!  You can choose to ride around the lake at the beginning, right behind the Gold riders, but skip the winding streets (hehehe) to meet back up on Agoura Road!  Ditto for going up the first part of Kanan!  LOTS OF OPTIONS for a Great Purple Adventure this Saturday!

We will meet at Citibank (corner of Agoura Hills and Westlake), rolling out at 8:30 AM.

The
Purple ride is a beginner club ride with a 12-13 mph average pace but is open to all levels. No one gets dropped and no one is left behind. Please make sure to wear the appropriate riding attire. Please check your bike prior to Sunday and make any necessary repairs.

Although the Purple ride is a "no drop" ride, for the enjoyment and safety of the participants, we will keep a 12-14 MPH average.

If you feel you are not Purple ready, but want to work up to the Purple level, please contact the Ride Captain who will gladly give you some pointers and advise.  We strongly recommend that you come out and meet the riders!  The best stepping stone to grow into a Purple rider is to ride around Westlake!  When you can sweep those 5 flat miles at a steady 12 to 14 mph pace, and still feel ready for more, then you will be able to handle many of the standard Purple routes.

Things you need for every ride:
  • Helmet-Mandatory
  • Water or Sports Drink
  • I.D.
  • Cell phone
  • Spare tube
  • CO2 cartridge or hand pump
  • Patch kit
  • Route slip

Inclement weather policy: In the interest of safety, whenever it is either actively raining or the ride route has wet roads, it is our club policy to cancel a club ride. Club members may still choose to meet and ride in these conditions; however, the ride will not be considered an official club ride.
