Hi CVC Red Riders : The forecast as of now for Sat. is for a dry, warmer day. Since we've been having some damp, cool and/or chilly rides lately - lets try a warmer inland route for this Sat. ( Continuing on my Fall Season - longer-distance slightly less overall climbing intensity theme compared to our Summer rides ) CVC Red Ride: Saturday, 10-27th 8:30am (Westlake Citibank Parking lot - NE Corner Westlake Blvd. & Agoura/Hampshire Rd.'s) Westlake-Hidden Valley-Somis-Balcom-Grimes Canyon-Moorpark-Thousand Oaks-Westlake Here is my Garmin readout from a previous time we rode the longest version of this ride : http://connect.garmin.com/activity/177523326 67.76 total miles 4196 ' climbing Approx. 4 hrs. ride time Around WL Lake - out through Hidden Valley to the CSCI driveway for 1st re-group. Decide from there who wants to ride with whom for suggested ride route options: 1) Through the College streets to Lewis Rd. - Pleasant Valley Rd. - Santa Rosa Rd. Upland Rd. to the town of Somis - to LA Ave. - Bradley Rd. - Stockton - Balcom Canyon Rd. to town of Moorpark OR..... for a longer by a few miles and some additional climbing version...... 2) Ride over to up the southside and down Balcom Canyon - across Bardsdale - TO: UP Grimes Canyon then ride down the S side of Grimes Canyon Rd. back to Broadway/Walnut Canyon Rd. to town of Moorpark Either ride then- From Moorpark's High St. : R Spring St. (south) L on Tierra Rejada R on Moorpark Rd. L on Read Rd - through housing development to bypass R Olsen Rd. L on Sunset Hills to Erbes Rd. or... L on Pederson to Erbes Rd. L Avenida de los Arboles R Westlake Blvd. L Thousand Oaks Blvd. R Lakeview Canyon Rd.
