CVC Community Event (Manna – Conejo Valley Food Bank), Saturday, November 22nd, 2014
When: 8:00-8:25 am. Where: The Landing (CVC ride start location) In the spirit of giving back to this great community we live in, CVC will be collecting from 8:00-8:25am for the “Thanksgiving for all” campaign put on every year by Manna. For more than a decade Manna has provided a holiday “care pack” containing all the fixings for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner to struggling families in the Conejo Valley. Unlike many food pantries in the area, Manna is not formally affiliated with any religious organization, nor are they federally funded in any way. In fact, Manna exists almost entirely on private donations of food and funding. More than 95% of the food Manna distributes each year is donated by organizations, businesses and individuals from around the Conejo Valley. Funding is provided through generous donors and grant writing efforts. Some Top Priority Items are… 1. Thanksgiving Pies 2. Canned White Beans 3. Chicken Broth 4. Soup - all kinds 5. Juice 6. Boxed Potatoes 7. Ramen / Cup o Noodles 8. Mayonnaise 9. Cereal- hot & cold 10. Crackers/Cookies All items will be taken and dropped off at Manna after the completion of Saturday’s rides. (@ 11a.m.). If you wish to donate but can’t make it, please visit http://www.mannaconejo.org/. Who knows, maybe you’ll be helping out the next great cyclist. Let’s Go Ride, Henry Montalvo President, CVC
