Hi All: The weather forecast is for another HOT weekend (maybe less humid though?) In my attempt to offer different Red Ride routes & riding directions every week, how about this Red Ride for Saturday: (has options for making the ride shorter if it gets too hot) Two Santa Monica Mt. climbs: Decker & Encinal Canyon (in-between is a Mulholland descent) Decker is 4.5 miles and Encinal is 5.5 miles If too hot or too tired -leave off one of the climbs. Saturday, September 15th, 8:00am Westlake Village Citibank/Sprouts Parking lot: NE corner of Westlake Blvd. & Agoura/Hampshire Rd.'s Westlake-Hidden Valley-Portero Canyon-PCH-Decker Canyon-Mulholland-Encinal Canyon -Westlake Here's the route: Loop around Westlake Lake ( from the East side) L on Westlake Blvd R Portero Rd. R Reino Rd. L Lynn/Portrero Continue through Dos Vientos & Portero Canyon 1st Re-group: CSCI College driveway L Hueneme Rd. L Las Posas L PCH 2nd Re-group: Sycamore Beach Park Continue on PCH to Decker Canyon ( 4.5 mile climb) to Mulholland Descend Mulholland Hwy to Coast ( 7.5 mile descent) 3rd Re-Group spot: after descending Mulholland: Leo Carrillo Campground parking lot (at Mulholland & PCH) PCH to Encinal Canyon Encinal Canyon climb (5.5 miles) to Lechusa/Decker Canyon Lechusa/Decker Canyon to Mulholland Hwy to Westlake Blvd. descent to Citibank/Sprouts parking lot finish Total ride mileage: maybe in the 60's ?
