CVC riders, As some or you already know King Gilette is closed as of now. Recently an 8-year-old boy was killed, and 4 others were injured while attending a summer camp in in the Sana Monica Mountains Recreation Area King Gilette will remain closed until arborists can conduct extensive evaluations of tree health to prevent further branch failures. No date is given when King Gilette will reopen. Those of you who will be riding in and around King Gilette need to plan on alternate water and bathroom stops. There is water at the fire station to the right of the intersection of Cold Canyon and Piuma. There is water on Stunt about a quarter mile for the summit on the right-hand side going up. Water in front of the fire station on Fernwood just after turning from Topanga Canyon.
