*CVC GOLD Level Ride -- Saturday, May 18th, 8:30 AM** * Meeting at Citibank Parking Lot - Westlake Village -- Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road (North East Corner) for announcements; promptly at 8:30 am, then split into our groups to depart. This is a good week to test yourself. The Orange ride is doing a longer version of this ride... *Route: Topanga / Old Topanga via Calabasas. 42.7 Miles; 4,552 Feet * *Water: Mile 15.1 (Stelle Middle School) * *Water: Mile 17.8 (Top of Topanga) * *Water & Toilet: Mile 22.8 (Just past Old Topanga Turm--off the course)* *Water & Toilet: Mile 24.6 (McD's)* * * *There will be plenty of business along the way if you need to stop for a nature break. * * *For a detailed map and route slip, go to*: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/2072020* * * The *Gold Ride* is an Intermediate recreational ride, 30-40+ miles in length and averaging 14+ mph. It is mandatory to have & wear a helmet. It is the rider's responsibility to ensure that the helmet is in good condition (check expiration on helmet inner tag) and that your bike is in working condition as well. *This is a "drop **ride**" so please understand the route before you start (and how to get back). As always we will try to stick together & have a fun safe **ride**. We will regroup regularly and to allow everyone a chance to ride together.* *Things to have:*** Helmet !!! - *Water to complete the ride or at least to reach the next water stop* - Tools to perform minor repairs -Chain repair linkage - Inner-tube and pump (or the like) - Cellular phone - Food to replenish energy*.* *Inclement weather policy*: In the interest of safety, whenever it is either actively raining or the ride route has wet roads, it is our club policy to cancel a club ride. Club members may still choose to meet and ridein these conditions; however, the ride will not be considered an official club ride. Please remember to park in the area along Westlake Blvd. (between the street and the first driveway aisle) and not in the area in front of the Shops/Market. If we don't respect the requests of the lease tenants, we could be asked to park elsewhere. Remember, if you ride... RIDE GOLD!!!
