CVC Gold Ride-Saturday, Feb. 2
CVC GOLD RIDE -- Saturday, February 1, 8:30 AM Meeting at Citibank Parking Lot - Westlake Village -- Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road (North East Corner) for announcements; promptly at 8:30 am, then split into our groups to depart. Route: Out to Newbury Park, up the Borchard Wall, and return Potrero. A little shorter route than usual, so, lake loops at the end are in order for those wanting extra mileage. Ride Specs: 31 Miles, 2200 feet Water & restrooms: Dos Vientos Community Center For a detailed map and route slip, go to: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/3966118 Special Note: Last week it was mentioned by a couple of CVC cyclists who were not part of our group that the Gold ride while warming up around the lake looked pretty sharp. We were all two by two, handlebar to handlebar, and wheel to wheel. I gotta say....that was pretty cool to hear! Yes, we are all weekend warriors, but there's no reason we can't at least try to look a little 'pro'. Go Gold! Ride leader this week: Cam (805) 217-6659 If you depart from the group ride for whatever reason, please pass along the information to the ride leader. The Gold Ride is an Intermediate recreational ride, 30+ miles in length and averaging 12-14 mph. It is mandatory to have & wear a helmet. It is the rider's responsibility to ensure that the helmet is in good condition (check expiration on helmet inner tag) and that your bike is in working condition as well. This is a "drop ride" so please understand the route before you start (and how to get back). If you get to a regrouping spot and no one is there, consider yourself dropped. As always we will try to stick together & have a fun safe ride. We will regroup regularly and to allow everyone a chance to ride together. Inclement weather policy: In the interest of safety, whenever it is either actively raining or the ride route has wet roads, it is our club policy to cancel a club ride. Club members may still choose to meet and ride in these conditions; however, the ride will not be considered an official club ride. Please remember to park in the area along Westlake Blvd. (between the street and the first driveway aisle) and not in the area in front of the Shops/Market. If we don't respect the requests of the lease tenants, we could be asked to park elsewhere. Please feel free to contact me with any questions: (805) 217-6659 _______________________________________________ announce mailing list announce@mail.cvcbike.org You can unsubscribe and manage your message preferences here: https://mail.cvcbike.org/mailman/listinfo/announce
