Hey CVCrs, We’re going to start having a Tuesday night Zwift ride as long as we are all interested in doing it. Sheri and I are going to be switching off the leads and maybe some of the other CVC ride leaders will jump in and take a lead as things get off the ground (hint hint). This Tuesday we will ride London’s Greater London Flat route starting at 5:30 PM for one hour. Its 7.2 Miles and 149’ of climbing. As it’s name describes, it’s fairly flat. But it’s good for a lot of newer riders and I am trying to keep it a bit easier here in the beginning. But don’t worry, we will be pushing along nicely. We will also be utilizing the rubber band to keep everyone together, this makes it so that some riders who may not be able to keep up will be pulled along as long as they are peddling. But try to keep in the group and drafting as the draft makes a big difference. We will also utilize the CVC discord server. See the link at the bottom of the announcement to join discord. You need to download the app to your phone first and then hit the link. You then need to configure the set up to be “push to talk” which works like a walkie-talkie. Don’t be intimidated by it and give it a try. There are many YouTube videos to show you how to set it up. It’s great because we can all chat throughout the ride. I find that I can run the Companion app and Discord at the same time from my phone, toggling back-and-forth ,and it works well. For those not using Discord I will still be texting throughout the ride on Zwift. I’ve also asked that everyone utilize the Basic 1 Jersey so we can keep track of each other. It is fairly easy to keep track of the leader as they have a beacon over their head, but the jersey makes it easier for us to keep track of you all. It’s the yellow and white one. Just go into your garage and switch over to that jersey for the ride prior to the start. You will need to use the Zwift Companion app to friend me so that I can add you to the ride if you are interested and have not already done so. Please try to have your friend requests in to me by 4:30 PM on Tuesday so that I can have everybody on the invite that wants to ride. Make sure you are a few minutes early to the start since you can’t join a meetup late. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions. Hi all, just a reminder that if you are interested in joining our weekly CVC Tuesday Zwift rides that run at 5:30 PM, you need to make sure that you are following both myself and Sheri on the Zwift companion app. Sheri’s handle is Shei L and you can find me under my full name. See the email below for more information on this weeks upcoming ride. I will also send out a more detailed set of instructions for the Discord voice server In the next couple of days. One more item of note is that on tomorrow’s ride I will likely start it out nice and easy and then incrementally ramp up the efforts with some little breaks in between and then near the end we are going to be working. It will be a lot of fun and we are going to have a great time. See you all tomorrow! Kent Koral (818) 802-0826
