CVC Saturday Gold Ride, Elks BBQ, Sept 24, 8:30am
Meeting at the Citibank Parking Lot, Westlake Village, (corner of
Westlake Blvd & Agoura Rd)
Route: Rock Store, 22 to 25 miles, approx 2,000' climbing
Hey Gold Riders,
Lets follow the Orange ride up Rock Store at least till Upper
Encinal Canyon. For those who would like to extend their legs you
can follow the Orange ride all the way or at least to Potrero Rd.
BBQ at the Elks Lodge after! See the basic route description and
RWGPS link below. See Kent's previous emails for details on the BBQ.
Special Note:
It has been over a year for me and will certainly be going up slower
than normal Gold pace. If there are any of you who have considered
Rock Store but have hesitated, or want more time to finish Rock
Store, this Saturday will be a great time and what better way to
celebrate with friends at the BBQ! For those who would like this we
would leave ahead of the regular rides to allow us the time to
compete it and be at the BBQ afterwards. If you are interested reply
to this email or directly to me at lee@bicyclingpenguin.org
so we can know who to expect.
Also is there anyone available who would start the Gold Ride at its
normal time.
Basic Route: Citibank to Cornell, Malibou Lake, Mulholland to Rock
Store, Continue up Mulholland to Decker, Down Decker, possibly a lap
around the lake. Then BBQ!
Here is the route with RideWithGps: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/150707
where you can view the route and print out a cue sheet. Elks BBQ
Location: http://g.co/maps/4xd8r
The Gold Ride is an intermediate recreational ride, 30 to 40 miles
in length with an average pace of 14 mph. It is not a "no drop" ride
but as always let's try to stick together as much as possible. If
you are new to CVC or just trying us out please let me know before
we start.
Remember to park in the area along Westlake Blvd (between the street
and the first driveway aisle) and not in the area in front of the
Shops/Market. If we do not respect the requests of the lease tenants
we could be asked to park elsewhere.
See you Saturday!
