Hi Gold, Orange & Red club riders:
Away Ride info. for this Saturday, 1-14th.
  ( 9:00am start time to allow for the 30 min driving time from Thous. Oaks)
Note that the ride options available on this Away Ride correspond to the standard ride definitions of
our different Club's colored rides. ( Purple, Gold, Orange & Red)
 
Note also that vehicle parking is limited in the Mission Park parking lot -(group meeting place)  

   - however there are parking spaces on adjoining streets- then ride your bike to the start.

CVC Away Ride: Ventura - Lake Casitas-Carpenteria-Montecito-Ventura
 
9:00am Mission Park Parking lot, Ventura, CA
    (see driving directions**  below)
 
From this location there are several ride options
consistent with our Gold, Orange & Red Ride definitions :
     (in increasing order of miles & difficulty) :
              
  Ventura to Ojai & return = 20+ mi. ( mostly on bikepath)
  Ventura, Ojai, Dennision Grade, Santa Paula, Ventura ( 50 mi.)
  Ventura, Lake Casitas, Carpenteria, Ventura ( 40 + mi.- depending on where you turn back)
  Ventura, Lake Casitas, Carpenteria, Montecito, Ventura ( 65 mi.) 

Here is a "Ride with GPS" (RWGPS) route map for the entire 65 mi. Red Ride route 

   - see above descriptions to shorten the route and eliminate some of the climbing total feet if you so choose

 

I'd like to have volunteers to lead ( and help organize with re-groups) the Purple, Gold & Orange riders

 
** Driving Directions to start :
N/B # 101 FRWY= exit California St.
    bear to right at top of offramp
go straight through 1st traffic light
turn Left at next intersection (Santa Clara St.)
drive West for approx 1/2 to 3/4 mile to Mission Park Parking Lot on R/S of Santa Clara St. 
   ( if you get to Ventura Ave, you've gone one block too far West)
 
See you at 9:00am on Sat. , 1-14-12 in Ventura.
