CVC Riders

During our constant search for bicycle-related safety and medical articles, we came across the article,

Exertional Heat Illness in Active Populations

from New England Journal of Medicine, and thought that this topic is both timely and relevant for those
who indulge in heavy exercise and/or heat exposure (i.e. CVC members).  I originally planned to send a
PDF of the article, but realized that there might be copyright issues, so I am including a link to the abstract
below. If anyone wants to get into the weeds and see the full article, let me know.    We summarized the
main points of the article in the PDF below and added a few cycling-related caveats.  Our hope and
expectation is that all CVC members (particularly Ride Leaders) should be able to recognize and deal
with heat-related issues and know when to call for help.
