Dear CVC Members and Volunteers! Here we are, down to the countdown, less than 1 week away, Cruisin the Conejo, YOUR club's biggest charity ride. We are getting ultra excited about it! From bikes, to massages, to coaching, to jerseys, jackets, hats, shoes, gift cards, 2 AMGEN Tour of Ca tickets, and others! WOW! You have GOT to check this out!!!!! Here is what we still need in the way of volunteers. SATURDAY, May 9th. 1-2 more people at Poindexter Park rest stop in Moorpark! Those century riders will need the love by then! Raffle ticket sales: Lunch time and afternoon SAG Drivers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OUCH, really need some. And. we desperately need people to stay and help with tear down and clean up. WAY tremendous of a job for just a few. Thank all of you for stepping up and helping your club host this ONCE a year charity event. Oh. one question came up at the registration meeting. Who are the charities???? Among some of our charities are : The scouts, both boy scouts and cub scouts are the local charities that benefit from this event. This helps the older boys gain leadership abilities, develop a love of cycling, and send them off to their Eagle Scout rankings. Then we support Challenged Athletes this year. which provides opportunities and support to people with physical challenges, so they can pursue active lifestyles through physical fitness and competitive athletics. As a side note, in the past, some volunteers may have received a wristband to ride. Because of our financial commitment the above charities, and the rising costs it takes to put this ride on, along with the large size of our club, we can no longer offer this. We can however, offer a discounted lunch available at the CVC Booth for those of you who will be at the expo. And as a special "extra", we are holding a (no cost) small raffle for volunteers only, for a Cruisin the Conejo jersey plus some other cool items!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please see me, or your team leader for a ticket! (especially if you will not be at the site, but at a rest stop). We will load down Mike Hackett and Mitch Albo with tickets, and you will be put in our drawing. Raffle bowl for volunteers will be in the CVC booth. Please be sure to visit the website and sign yourself up for any of these few positions.
