Sunday will be warm too, but highs just in the 80s. So we will have a beautiful clear away ride in Santa Barbara on Saturday and another gorgeous day for local rides on Sunday. Just be sure to drink lots. On Saturday, we have two away rides starting just 45 minutes away in Carpinteria. The Red Ride is going to ride the mountain loop up around Santa Barbara and include an Up-n-Back on Gibraltar near the beginning. The Orange/Gold ride is going to bypass the Gibraltar climb and continue up around Mountain, sweeping back through UCSB, the Harbor and return down the coast. For those limited on time, Gary will lead a local ride to Dos Vientos, CSU and back up Mulholland (with options to return from Dos Vientos). Please make the effort to get to the away ride, though. It will be a memorable additional to our club activities. On Sunday, we've got three rides. The Red Ride is heading for a loop up through Oak Park then over Mulholland and 7-minute Hill. The G.O. Ride is a similar ride up Cornell and over Mulholland and back through Calabasas. The social ride is going to enjoy a nice easy ride out Hidden Valley to Treasure Hill and back. We've also got midweek rides on Tuesday and Thursday morning and evenings, including the our famous Rock Store Race Ride (with moderat-paced options), our wildly fun Thursday night Pub Ride and destination rides Tuesday and Thursday mornings. When riding with your groups, please be very verbal and on the watch for debris in the bike lanes. Always warn riders behind you of everything approaching! You are their eyes when you are on the front. Our Purple and Newcomer courses are getting a fantastic response. Please help spread the word and bring friends! Our next ride is scheduled for the first weekend in August. Come join us. We cover lots of info from bike checks, to riding strategies, to group dynamics. Let me know if I can help with anything bike or ride-related. I always have extra gear, supplies and my toolbox, pump, etc. And let's ride!
