Dear CVC member,
Jerry has asked me to be in charge of organizing the Sunday Social Ride. As you know, there is often a last-minute scramble to find volunteer ride leaders for the Social Ride. My goal is to make organizing the Social ride a more predictable and reliable process. To accomplish this, I am establishing a roster of volunteers to lead the Social Ride on a rotation. My hope is that we can have a list of at least 10 or more people to rotate Sundays so that no leader will have to lead more than once every 2 months or so. There is precedent for this with Yellow and Gold rides, so I think that it should work for Social also. Accordingly, I ask for volunteers to lead rides on Sunday. If you have never lead a ride, I would be more than happy to help to chose or create a route and to co-lead until you feel comfortable. Please contact me if you are willing to be a Social ride leader. And, as an added incentive and a sign of our appreciation for those who lead Sunday rides, CVC has agreed to purchase coffee and a snack at Starbucks for the ride leader after each Social Ride.
