Hi CVC'ers:
Even though the weather has jinxed our last two attempts at Away Rides
we've decided to offer a shorter driving distance - Away Ride with a familiar route
so that we'll have an Away Ride for April (before our Cruisin' the Conejo 5-5-12 event)     
Note that the ride options available on this ride can correspond to the standard ride definitions of
our different Club's colored rides. ( Purple, Gold, Orange & Red) 
 
Parking is limited in the Mission Park parking lot - however there are parking spaces on adjoining streets.
Wherever you park, let's gather together in the Mission park parking lot to divide up into our groups and ride from there.

CVC Away Ride: Ventura - Lake Casitas-Carpenteria-Montecito-Ventura
 
8:30am Mission Park Parking lot, Ventura, CA
    (see driving directions**  below)
 
From this location there are several ride options
consistent with our Gold, Orange & Red Ride definitions :
     (in increasing order of miles & difficulty) :
              
 1) Ventura to Ojai & return = 20+ overall miles (mostly on bikepath) 
  2) Ventura, Lake Casitas, Carpenteria, Ventura ( 40 + mi.- depending on where you turn back)
          usually following Hwy # 150 after the Lake Casitas descent 
  3) Ventura, Lake Casitas, Carpenteria, Montecito, Ventura ( 62 mi.)

** Driving Directions to start :
N/B # 101 FRWY= exit California St.
    bear to right at top of offramp
go straight through 1st traffic light
turn Left at next intersection (Santa Clara St.)
drive West for approx 1/2 to 3/4 mile to Mission Park Parking Lot on R/S of Santa Clara St. 
   ( if you get to Ventura Ave, you've gone one block too far West)
