CVC Friends,
I want to follow up on our very successful Manna Food Drive.
- Manna reported back that we, CVC, delivered just over 500 pounds of grocery and personal care items this past Monday. This amount may come a surprise to some of you as Mike was collecting many of the groceries in the parking lot and with your help was loading them directly into his SUV. So, many bags never made it inside for us to see.
- Additionally, Manna reported back that we donated $836.00. Those who donated with checks (99%) will receive receipts directly from Manna.
- Manna serves 1400 people per month. Unlike many food pantries in the area, Manna isn’t formally affiliated with any religious organizations nor is it federally funded.
- Exciting news: Manna will be moving to a new location that will expand its facilities and capabilities significantly. Manna purchased a church within a mile of its current location and will be converting it to meets its needs to include complete renovation and an ambitious expansion. Manna hopes to break ground and begin operations in late 2020 or early 2021.
Thanking everyone for your effort and generous contributions and thank you Mike for leading and taking care of our Food Drive on behalf of CVC.
