Hi Fellow CVC members and guests,
Let's have those faster riders that need a brisker pace or longer ride depart a few minutes earlier. Please be aware of the route to allow those that need to slow the pace to meet at regroup spots.
We can always regroup at the same locations allowing those that start earlier with the option to join us later. Options to extend the route could be adding the climb to the top of Piuma.
The intent of our Sunday Social Ride is to maintain a pace that allows a conversation within the group of riders in close proximity.
Sunday's 9:00 AM the CVC Social Ride is riding to De Anza Park, through Cold Canyon to Piuma returning on Las Virgenes to Mulholland around the lake and returning Cornell Rd. with a finishing lap around Westlake.
Meeting at Citibank Parking Lot - Westlake Village -- Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road (North East Corner), this is a longer social route with options to make it shorter.
Route: Agoura to DeAnza Park,(Not regrouping until King Gillette Park)Rt. on Las Virgenes Rd, East on Mulholland then right on Cold Canyon Road to Piuma, right on Piuma and re-group at the fire station, Piuma to Las Virgenes, left on Mulholland to Cornell and around the Lake.
For a detailed map and route slip, go to:
Re-grouping Locations:
King Gillette Ranch Restroom and Water.
Piuma Fire Station Water, restroom is available if the station is open
Cornell and Mulholland.
As usual, we will meet at the Citibank parking lot and have our pre-ride announcements promptly at 9:00 AM then splitting into our groups and departing.
It is mandatory to have and ware a helmet and it is the rider's responsibility to ensure that the helmet is valid (check expiration on helmet inner tag, usually good for five years) and in good working condition. It is not a "no drop ride" but as always let's try to stick together and have a fun, safe ride.
Things to have:
Water to complete the ride or at least to reach the next water stop.
Tools to perform minor repairs.
Chain repair linkage.
Inner-tube and inflated device.
Cellular phone.
Food to replenish energy.
Inclement weather policy: In the interest of safety, whenever it is either actively raining or the ride route has wet roads, it is our club policy to cancel a club ride. Club members may still choose to meet and ride in these conditions; however, the ride will not be considered an official club ride.
After the ride, please join us at one of the many refueling options available at the finish such as Natural Cafe, Sea Casa, East Coast Bagel, Sprouts Market, etc..
Please remember to park in the area along Westlake Bl.(between the street and the first driveway aisle) and not in the area in front of the Shops/Market. If we don't respect the requests of the lease tenants, we could be asked to park elsewhere.
See you Sunday,
Dale
