Meeting at Citibank Parking Lot - Westlake Village -- Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road (North East Corner) for announcements; promptlyat 8:30 am, then split into our groups to depart.
Route: Out and back to Newbury Park via Lynn and Green Meadow bypass. This is a good ride for any Purple folks who'd like to give Gold a try.
Ride Specs: 33 Miles, 2700 feet--for extra credit: a lake loop
Water & restrooms: On Green Meadow
Ride leader this week: TBA
Safety Tip of the Week: One by one will get the job done,
and two by two is fun to do,
but three abreast is not always the best,
scattered all over here and there.
For traffic behind may tap your behind,
and leave you gasping for care
(Ancient Gaelic Proverb Translation)
Note: If you start with a group, the posted routes are to be followed. If you depart from the group ride or wish to deviate from the posted route for whatever reason, you must pass along the information to the ride leader so that there is no confusion for the other cyclists.
The Gold Ride is an Intermediate recreational ride, 30+ miles in length and averaging 12-14 mph. It is mandatory to have & wear a helmet. It is the rider's responsibility to ensure that the helmet is in good condition (check expiration on helmet inner tag) and that your bike is in working condition as well. This is a "drop ride" so please understand the route before you start (and how to get back). If you get to a regrouping spot and no one is there, consider yourself dropped. As always we will try to stick together & have a fun safe ride. We will regroup regularly to allow everyone a chance to ride together.
Inclement weather policy: In the interest of safety, whenever it is either actively raining or the ride route has wet roads, it is our club policy to cancel a club ride. Club members may still choose to meet and ride in these conditions; however, the ride will not be considered an official club ride.
Please remember to park in the area along Westlake Blvd. (between the street and the first driveway aisle) and not in the area in front of the Shops/Market. If we don't respect the requests of the lease tenants, we could be asked to park elsewhere. Please feel free to contact me with any questions: (805) 217-6659
