Purple Route:  Petting Zoo     18.8 mi / 902’ climbing
Purple+Plus Route: Rock Store, 22 to 25 miles, approx 2,000' climbing


Hey Purple Riders,

It's BBQ Saturday!  If you never joined us for the Elk's Lodge BBQ lunch then get your taste buds set for a delicious treat!

The Purple route will be the Petting Zoo!  This follows all of our other club-mates all the way to the base of Rockstore!  The normal Purples will follow the route as seen here:

  • View the route and print out a cue sheet
  • When done, drive over for the Elks Lodge BBQ at 11 a.m.!!!

Purple+Plus Riders who would like to challenge their climbing skills can follow the Orange route, but at a Purple speed.  Basic Route: Citibank to Cornell, Malibou Lake, Mulholland to Rock Store, Continue up Mulholland to Decker, Down Decker. Then BBQ!


Special Note:
If there are any of you who have considered Rock Store but have hesitated, or want more time to finish Rock Store, this Saturday will be a great time and what better way to celebrate with friends at the BBQ!  Purple+Plus could leave ahead of the regular rides (8am-ish) to allow us the time to complete it and be at the BBQ by 11am. If you are interested reply to this email or directly to me at bmcelhenny@yahoo.com so we can know who to expect.

The Purple and Purple+Plus Ride is an beginners recreational ride, 15 to 20 miles in length with an average pace of 12-13 mph. It is a "no drop" ride so let's try to stick together as much as possible. If you are new to CVC or just trying us out please let me know before we start.

CO2 cartridge or hand pump
Patch kit
Route slip

Remember to park in the area along Westlake Blvd (between the street and the first driveway aisle) and not in the area in front of the Shops/Market. If we do not respect the requests of the lease tenants we could be asked to park elsewhere.
