PCH-Leo Carrillo with : Return choices: Mulholland Hwy or Yerba Buena
Ride Agoura Rd. East to Juan Bautista de Anza Park (1st re-group spot)
Mulholland West to Malibou Lake & then up Rock Store Climb to top: ( 2nd re-group spot )
Then from top of Rock Store, across Mulholland Hwy by Malibou Wines &
Descend Upper Encinal Canyon then back up to the lower Encinal Canyon descent to PCH
Then ride West on PCH to Leo Carrillo campground ( 3rd re-group spot)
Return to Westlake Village via' Mulholland Hwy or..... Yerba Buena ( longer option**)
** ( Longer option: from Leo Carrillo- return via Yerba Buena-Little Sycamore-Mulholland-Westlake)
After ride coffee & socializing - at the Natural Cafe' patio and/or the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf
See you at 8:30am at the Citibank/Sprouts Parking lot
Reminder of our Club Ride safety rules :
In recent weeks there have been several close calls involving our riders that might
have resulted in serious injuries & damage so to remind you of our club ride safety:
Club Ride Safety Requirements:
- Approved ANSI Helmets must be worn
- Obey all traffic safety laws: (stop signs, traffic lights, yield signs, etc.)
- When applicable, ride in the designated bike lane
- Ride on the right side of lane, Pass on the left side of cyclist in front of you
- Point-out road hazards & other dangerous conditions to riders behind you
- Ride 2 abreast only where it is safe to do so:
- Single file where it is not.
- Avoid passing other riders on downhills unless you are sure they are aware of your presense
and intention to pass them.
- Earbuds & headphones are not permitted
- Ride straight in lane and predictably; Avoid rapid line changes or wobbly bike movements
- Be vigilant for doors opening on parked cars
- Use a mirror to monitor vehicles, cyclists behind you
Inclement weather policy: In the interest of safety, whenever it is either actively raining or the ride route has wet roads, it is our club policy to cancel a club ride. Club members may still choose to meet and ride in these conditions; however, the ride will not be considered an official club ride.
