As usual, we will meet at the Citibank
parking lot and have our preride announcements promptly at 8:30AM then splitting into our
groups and departing.
The Gold Ride is an Intermediate
recreational ride, 30-40 miles in length and averaging 14 mph. It is mandatory
to have and wear a helmet. It is the rider's responsibility to ensure that the
helmet is valid (check expiration on helmet inner tag, usually good for five
years) and in good working condition. This
is not a "no drop ride" so please understand the route
before you start (and how to get back). As always we will try to stick together
and have a fun safe ride. We will regroup regularly to allow
everyone a chance to ride together.
Things to have:
Helmet !!!
Water to complete the ride or at least to reach the next water stop.
Tools to perform minor repairs.
Chain repair linkage.
Inner-tube and inflated device.
Cellular phone.
Food to replenish energy.
Inclement weather policy: In the interest of safety, whenever it is either actively
raining or the ride route has wet roads, it is our club policy to cancel a club
ride. Club members may still choose to meet and ride in these conditions;
however, the ride will not be considered an official club ride.
After the ride, please join us at one of the many refueling options available
at the finish such as Natural Cafe, Sea Casa, East Coast Bagel, Sprouts Market,
etc..
Please remember to park in the area
along Westlake Blvd. (between the street and the first driveway aisle) and not in
the area in front of the Shops/Market. If we don't respect the requests of the
lease tenants, we could be asked to park elsewhere.
See you there,
Henry Montalvo
