WEEKLY RIDE SAFETY REMINDER- Know Your Route Before You Roll

As we head into another great weekend of riding, here’s an important safety reminder:

Choose the Right Route for You
Each week, we provide five different route options for our Saturday ride so all riders—no matter your fitness level—can have a great ride. But we’ve noticed some members arrive not sure which route to take.

Why It Matters for Safety
        • Choosing a route that’s beyond your ability can leave you exhausted, dehydrated, or far from help if something goes wrong.
        • It can put added pressure on other riders to support someone who’s struggling.
        • In extreme cases, it can lead to crashes, medical issues, or needing to call for a ride home.

Smart Route Planning Tips
        • Review the route options ahead of time. Check distance, elevation, and understand expected pace.
        • Be honest about your current fitness, recovery, and how you’re feeling that day.
        • Don’t feel pressured to take the longest or hardest route. Completing a ride safely is always the real win.
        • If you’re unsure, go shorter. You can always add on miles at the end if you feel good.
        • Download the Ride With GPS route to your phone or save it to your bike computer.
        • If you have questions, ask during your ride leader's safety briefing.

Let’s keep our rides safe, fun, and inclusive.
See you out there—and know your route before you roll!
