Hi Everyone, On Saturday April 21th. starting at 8:30 AM we are riding through Wood Ranch in Simi Valley to the Lost Canyon area and returning through Read Bypass. Please be aware that this weekend there will be two Orange rides, one local and the other an away ride to Ventura, Lake Casitas, Casitas Pass to Carpenteria and returning to Ventura. I will need someone to lead the local ride as I will be at the away ride. Please use the restroom before departing. Direction to the away ride start location: ** Driving Directions to start : N/B # 101 FRWY= exit California St. bear to right at top of off ramp go straight through 1st traffic light turn Left at next intersection (Santa Clara St.) drive West for approx 1/2 to 3/4 mile to Mission Park Parking Lot on R/S of Santa Clara St. ( if you get to Ventura Ave, you've gone one block too far West) See you at8:30am on Sat. , 4-21-12 in Ventura. As usual, we will meet at the Citibank parking lot and/or Ventura Mission Park and have our pre-ride announcements promptly at 8:30AM then splitting into our groups and departing. The Orange Ride is an Intermediate/advanced recreational ride, 40-60 miles in length and averaging 17 mph.It is mandatory to have and ware a helmet and it is the rider's responsibility to ensure that the helmet is valid (check expiration on helmet inner tag, usually good for five years) and in good working condition. It is not a "no drop ride" but as always let's try to stick together and have a fun, safe ride. Things to have: Water to complete the ride or at least to reach the next water stop. Tools to perform minor repairs. Chain repair linkage. Inner-tube and inflated device. Cellular phone. Food to replenish energy. Inclement weather policy: In the interest of safety, whenever it is either actively raining or the rideroute has wet roads, it is our club policy to cancel a club ride. Club members may still choose to meet and ride in these conditions; however, the ride will not be considered an official club ride. After the ride, please join us at one of the many refueling options available at the finish such as Natural Cafe, Sea Casa, East Coast Bagel, Sprouts Market, etc..
