“RIDE OF SILENCE”
Calling Riders of all ages. “Helmets are Required”
Date. 05-19-2021 5:45 PM Meetup Oaks Mall East-Lot in front of Petals and Pints Brewing Co.
Ride @ 6:00 PM
Join fellow riders on Wednesday, May 19,2021in solemn remembrance of the serious injuries and deaths caused by motor vehicles each year on our roads. We ride in silence for approximately 10 miles, escorted by the Thousand Oaks Police, on our most traveled roads.
The route is mostly flat. All who ride bikes are encouraged to join us. The goal is to educate drivers to be aware of, and exercise caution around people on bicycles.
Please visit the Eventbrite page https://rideofsilenceto.eventbrite.com to register and learn more about how this ride will be organized to comply with safe social distancing practices.
Thank you to the Oaks Mall and Petals and Pints and the Conejo Valley Cyclists club for supporting the Ride of Silence.
To learn more about the International Ride of Silence, please visit Rideofsilence.org.
As an international event, the Ride of Silence has taken place in various locations across the globe since 2003. The ride is intentionally solemn and slow paced, with cyclists going no faster than 12 mph and participating silently. In keeping with the importance of the occasion, all cycling groups and individuals are welcome to participate.
Come out in numbers to show your support for our local cycling community.
There will be police escorts. We will meet safely with masks at the Thousand Oaks Mall:
